As SNL goes through what is quite possibly its worst season ever, a bright spot appears on the horizon.  Famous beard model Zach Galifianakis will be hosting the March 6th episode.

Tosh.0 Season 2 Premieres in January

Thanks to tonight’s posts on Daniel Tosh’s Twitter feed, I can happily report that Comedy Central has picked up a 25 episode second season of Tosh.0. Regular readers know how much I love Tosh’s acid sarcasm and of course, his sweaters. The show returns on January 13th, moving to Wednesdays at 10:30/9:30c. If you haven’t seen the show, or need something to satisfy you until the premiere, head over to the Tosh.0 blog.

Penn and Teller on Jimmy Fallon

[picapp align=”center” wrap=”false” link=”term=penn+and+teller&iid=4157594″ src=”8/9/1/d/Penn__Teller_26cf.jpg?adImageId=7708193&imageId=4157594″ width=”380″ height=”302″ /]

Penn and Teller visited Jimmy Fallon back on Nov 12. I just caught up on three weeks of Jimmy Fallon in about 40 minutes, and this was the best part by far. The link to the full episode on Hulu is included below. Skip to about 32:40 to see their bit. Even if you think Penn and Teller are loudmouth assholes (well at least one of them), you cannot deny they are great at magic. For the record, I think they are hilarious, and Bullshit alone is worth the subscription to Showtime.

Dollhouse Cancelled

In a move that should surprise no one, FOX has announced the end of Dollhouse, marking their most recent cancellation of a promising sci-fi show that they banished to the Friday night lineup. I’ll admit that the concept behind Dollhouse was always more exciting than the actual episodes, but I blame a near-complete lack of support from the network for the ultimate quality of the show. After all, they only renewed the show after Joss Whedon proved he could slash the production budget by turning in the never-aired “Epitaph One” episode at the end of season one. Incidentally, that installment is worth the $1.99 at iTunes. I’m disappointed in the cancellation, but at the same time, we all need to admit this was no Firefly.

Oh, that shitty Kelsey Grammer show was cancelled too.

Scrubs and Better Off Ted Are Back in December

[picapp src=”9/2/f/b/2009_Environmental_Media_a14a.JPG?adImageId=6993542&imageId=6916419″ width=”380″ height=”254″ /]

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC is going to breathe some much-needed life into the Tuesday night lineup when Scrubs and Better Off Ted return to the schedule this December. Scrubs is set to premiere its new formula with a double-dose on December 1st, and Ted returns for a second season on December 8th.

I’m looking forward to seeing this new version of Scrubs. I think a mixing up the cast and refreshing the premise is exactly the kind of change they need to give the show a chance at gaining an audience.

I’m not really sure how well these two shows pair with V, which airs in the slot before them, but it probably doesn’t matter anyway. The only chance Scrubs and Better Off Ted have to garner any ratings is by reaching an audience as counter-programming for smash hit spinoff NCIS:Los Angeles.
