Royal Pains Season 2 Premiere

USA has confirmed that last summer’s breakout hit Royal Pains will return for it’s second season starting June 3rd.

This was one of my favorite new shows last year so I can’t wait to see how they follow up on the success of their first run.

Tosh.0 Season 2 Premieres in January

Thanks to tonight’s posts on Daniel Tosh’s Twitter feed, I can happily report that Comedy Central has picked up a 25 episode second season of Tosh.0. Regular readers know how much I love Tosh’s acid sarcasm and of course, his sweaters. The show returns on January 13th, moving to Wednesdays at 10:30/9:30c. If you haven’t seen the show, or need something to satisfy you until the premiere, head over to the Tosh.0 blog.

Scrubs and Better Off Ted Are Back in December

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC is going to breathe some much-needed life into the Tuesday night lineup when Scrubs and Better Off Ted return to the schedule this December. Scrubs is set to premiere its new formula with a double-dose on December 1st, and Ted returns for a second season on December 8th.

I’m looking forward to seeing this new version of Scrubs. I think a mixing up the cast and refreshing the premise is exactly the kind of change they need to give the show a chance at gaining an audience.

I’m not really sure how well these two shows pair with V, which airs in the slot before them, but it probably doesn’t matter anyway. The only chance Scrubs and Better Off Ted have to garner any ratings is by reaching an audience as counter-programming for smash hit spinoff NCIS:Los Angeles.

Top Gear Series 14 Premieres in November

That’s right, our favorite motoring program has been announced for a November 15th premiere. Better still, producers have confirmed this series will be in glorious HD! I don’t know much about what we’re in for this series, but apparently at least one Renault will be destroyed, and if I were a betting man I’d guess a caravan or two will probably get the axe as well.

Banished: Hank

Successful man experiences a big career change, moves from the city to the suburbs, and spends more time with his family. This is the¬†premise of Hank, and yes it is also eerily similar to the premise of Back to You, Kelsey Grammer’s last crappy attempt at making another hit. I don’t have much to say other than Grammer will fail every time he tries to re-create the magic of Frasier with a much less talented cast.¬†One episode normally isn’t enough for me to pass judgement on a new show, but Hank is abnormally boring. I’m not surprised it’s the only one of ABC’s Wednesday comedies that hasn’t been picked up for the full season. Worse yet, they’re even bumping it off the schedule next week to air the Charlie Brown Halloween special.
