As SNL goes through what is quite possibly its worst season ever, a bright spot appears on the horizon.  Famous beard model Zach Galifianakis will be hosting the March 6th episode.

Saturday Night Live: Drew Barrymore

Just three weeks in and it’s safe to say this won’t be the year SNL breaks out of its latest slump. Almost all of the sketches were totally forgettable and unfunny. Even the digital short was just okay.

The only high points in this week’s episode were Kenan Thompson’s Maya Angelou; Barrymore’s boyfriend Justin Long doing his spot-on Matthew McConaughey impression; and the Ladies Billiards sketch.

Also, if Fred Armisen is going to keep doing Obama this much, his impression really needs to improve.

Thursday Premieregasm Tonight!

Just a quick reminder of tonight’s big premieres:

Survivor: Samoa
Fringe
SNL Weekend Update Thursday
Community
Parks and Recreation
The Office
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

I’ll be recording them all, but I’ll probably only watch Fringe, The Office, Sunny, and Survivor tonight. The rest (plus a new Project Runway) will have to wait for this weekend.

Having watched the full episode, I’ll have to say that Green Day was the best part, and that’s a bit sad for a comedy show.

Here were my favorites from the night:
